Ghost task that doesnt exisit nor scheuled Fails to find the file (folder) or the key (value) in the registry.

Thread needs solution

I have upgraded from Acronis True Image Home 2010 to 2011. I went in and deleted all of the backup tasks and created new ones. After a week or so I went and checked on the tasks to see if they were running correctley. One of the tasks that backs up the system drive to a removable USB drive is showing errors, so I check the log and it looks the backup is running sucessfully every week as scheduled, but it also has a host of errors happening every day that are not part of the scheudled task that is completing sucessfully.

Here is the logs of a weeks worth of events for a back up task that is scheudled to run every week on thursday. (Not that the error is comming up every day for a non-related backup task:

One of the posts recommends downloading http://download.acronis.com/support/schedmgr.exe and deleting any tasks that dont match the ones you have created, but im not seeing the ghost task in that list so I wanted to see if there is another solution to this?

At a quick glance, are you sure this task is not one that you've actually got listed in 2011?

It seems to be referring to a temporary image file that is produced when a consolidation task is run or an image is being stored in the Secure Zone.

Im sure, there are only two tasks in the list. One to backup the system drive to the ASZ every month, and another one to backup the system drive to an external hd every week.

I would suggest one of the following.

1. Delete the task and remake it.

2. Download and run the task zapper utility form Acronis, this will reset the database.

3. Open up the folder where the tasks are kept and see how many exist in the folder, if more than one delete the extra one (this won't reset the database though). If only one task exists, open it in a text or XML viewer and see if the phantom task is listed there abd remove the entry.
