"Acronis managed machine service is unavailable"

Thread needs solution

I am running SBS 2008 with B&R 10 SBS edition. I am running the latest version of the software (11345)

I get the folowing message in the system tray "Acronis managed machine service is unavailable".

This message just will not go away.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software but the message keeps appearing.

I have read an article that states that I can ignore this message but I am unhappy with this suggestion.

This is a busy production server and I dont want to ignore any kind of error message that I recieve. I believe this is good practice.

Does anybody have any worthwhile suggestions?

I found out a solution to this problem.

Go to services, acronis managed services and rerun the service using the system account.

So far so good.

Sorry does not work on my machine. So that is not the fix for this problem

Problem solved by the german support professionals.

Had to uninstall with revo uninstaller than abr_cleanup.exe and the reinstalling.

Not a nice solution but it works

I have had the same problem on a Windows 7 Professional laptop with Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 version 11345.
The user that was logged in had administrator rights and the real Administrator was disabled.
After enabling the Administrator user en logging in with it to see if it was a user related problem, the message "Acronis managed machine service is unavailable" disappeared again.
After that the message also disappeared with the other user account.
I know that there is a difference in rights between the Administrator and other users with local administrator rights.
Maybe Acronis needs full system rights to reset the message.
It is probably a bug and I have reported it to Acronis Benelux.
In any case this solved my problem (for now).
Hope it helps for other people too.
