Files & Folders backups don't play nicely on my system.

Thread needs solution

Hello,

True-Image 2018 v12510, Windows 10 64bit.

When I make a partition backup everything works smoothly.
But when I make a Files & big Folders backup it takes like for ever.
Especially when in the validation phase.
It scans the whole system storage before getting to the drive storing the .tib file.

The same thing happens in Explorer.

a .tib made with Partition backup will open almost instantly in Explorer.
a .tib made with Files & Folders backup, when finally validated, a double-click in Explorer will end up exploring again all the disks.

The test with a small folder (a couple of gigs) went OK but not with a 45GB folder with lots of sub-folders.

Is it just me?

Thanks.

Welcome to these public User Forums.

I am not aware of any specific issues with regards to larger Files & Folders backups but there are factors that could come into play here, i.e. are you using symbolic links for folders located in other places on your system, do you have deeply nested folders here, large numbers of small files etc?

I would recommend using the MVP Log Viewer tool (link in my signature below) and checking for any messages in the logs associated with your backups.

You may also need to consider white-listing the main Acronis executables for any security software you have installed in case this is getting involved here.
