Unable to install 2011 Home or get tech support

Purchased TI 2011 Home. It will not install completely on Win 7 Pro 32-bit. Getting Error #1909 "Could not create short cut (list of several .lnk files e.g. TryDecide.lnk). Verify folder exists and you can access." Also receive another error msg., "installer has insufficient privileges to access C:\program data\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\AcronisTrueImage\...". Have tried to install as Administrator w/o success.
TI partially installs but has only the Back Up function and Tool/Utilities. There is no Restore function.
I do not understand all those damn Windows permission requirements but I think I have them set correctly. I have even Taken Ownership of virtually all the files.
I'M THROUGH WITH ACRONIS PRODUCTS! I have tried for three days to access their tech support but there is NO WAY to contact them. You just get stuck in a loop that keeps putting you back to the Knowledge Base or this forum. I could not even post here for the last two days! I'd put in my name and password and nothing would happen. It is arrogant, deceit company that does not provide customer service - buy my product but s---w you if it doesn't work!

Thank you for the reply. I checked the permissions and none of the users had full authorization. I added full permission. I had previously taken ownership but apparently this does not change permissions. Will have to do some more checking on this.
I still cannot get an answer to the installation problem I had with TI Home 2011 since I canceled my order when I could not contact tech support and there was no reply to an earlier forum inquiry. I would consider repurchasing TIH 2011 if I could get an answer to the installation problems I had, as described above. Is there some other method by which I can get tech support to respond.

Mustang,
Posting a question on the forum may or may not get you a response from support. If you specifically want their help, you need to fill out a written ssupport request as mentioned in post #1 above.

Maybe now that you've fixed the permissions problem TI will now install correctly for you. Downloading the trial version will soon answer that question and maybe bring forth more.

GroverH: The above post does not tell the whole story. I had made a previous post describing that I could not contact tech support. I was just getting stuck in a loop that kept sending me back the home page. I could not get a form to fill out. It appears that this was because of the Windows permissions problem.
Collin: I looked for a trial version last night but could not find one. Did I miss it somewhere?
Thanks for the responses.

Thanks - I found it. I don't know what happened th other night when I was looking for it. The only down load I could find was for the purchase version.
Update on the installation and access to tech support. Initial attempt to install the trial version failed. Kept getting msg. I didn't have access to a certain file (don't remember which one). Tried changing permission for that file but Windows would not let me. Windows would not even display the ownership. Anyway, after much experimenting with adding permissions, logging on as an administrator, and selecting run as administrator to run the install file I was able to install the trial version. So it is apparent that the problem is with Windows and its complex permissions system. I wish there was some way to eliminate the whole system. This is my computer and I resent having to jump through a bunch of hoops just to install a program!
