"specify location of volume "Г" ... what?
Just finished execution of full volume backup task
I click "explore and recover" to check if everything is OK and the following popup appears:
What is happening there?
What is this strange character after "volume" ?
Where I'm supposed to "browse"
Why so many bugs in a single product?
Why??

Hello Gilles,
Thank you for posting. I will definitely help you with this issue.
Are you running the latest build - 6597?
There are a few reasons for this issue. A corrupt backup could have been created. Can you right click on that backup tab and select - Validate backup? Does it validate successfully?
Another possible cause for this problem could lie with the archive.xml file which is located here: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database
It stores all the backup information. Please try the following from the main program menu, press Help and click on Update backup list. Please let me know what happens.
The strange character should show Volume 1 because this is what the logs show. You can also click on the Browse button and navigate to your backups location.
Looking forward to your reply and if you have additional questions please let me know.
Thank you.

Yes

Yes, it does

A complete mess:
- some virtual disk (.vhd) files I am using on virtual machines now appears as Backup tasks
- The backup task which exhibits errors now appears twice, one with "(3)" appended and with different values for "Total:"
- some other task seem to have been duplicated (I have to check precisely)
The strange character should show Volume 1 because this is what the logs show. You can also click on the Browse button and navigate to your backups location.

Thank you.
I've created another task which is working but I would like to know only two thing:
- How can I fix the garbage that the "Update backup list" has produced?
- What can I do to prevent this to happen again?

For each of the backup you want to remove from the list, click on "Operations > More > Remove from the list". This will remove it from the list, but will leave the backup files alone.
DO NOT choose Delete Backup as this will remove the backup and delete the associated backup files.

Hello Gilles and Pat,
Pat, thank you very much for your kind help.
Gilles, I appreciate the follow-up.
I believe that Pat has already answered the first question.
At the moment it is not quite clear what happened exactly that caused this problem. If you do not mind, can you send me additional information so that I can forward to our Testing lab?
1. AcronisInfo report.
2. Screenshots of the main program menu and backup location.
3. If you try to 'explore and recover' now, do you still get the same error? Or, updating the backup list seems to have resolved the issue? If the issue still re-occurs, we will need process monitor logs.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.

2. Screenshots of the main program menu and backup location.
I'm going to send you a private link to access those files
After that I'll will cleanup the task list as advised.
Anton wrote:3. If you try to 'explore and recover' now, do you still get the same error?
No more error for now

Thank you.
One more question, Now I have two instances of the invalid backup task :
Partition_backup_SystemC(3)
Size: 49,34GB
and
Partition_backup (SystemC)
Size: 147,83Gb
each pointing to the *same* backup localtion,
May I remove only one of them from the task list and continue using the other or I better have delete each and restart from scratch?

Hello Gilles,
Thank you for replying.
Considering the circumstances I would recommend to start from scratch so that we can avoid any potential issues with backup database corruption.
I also received the files.
If you have additional questions, please let me know.
Thank you.
