Reboot after ATI2011 installation fails

Thread needs solution

I purchased and downloaded Acronis Disk Director 2011, Acronis True Image Home 2011 (upgrade over 11.0), and Acronis True Image Home Plus Pack so that I could work with dynamic disks used in my Windows 7 (Ultimate) OS. After the installation of ATI2011 appeared to be OK, I went to install ADD2011, but was given the message that I needed to reboot first. When I clicked OK to reboot, the system locked up on restart with a message that a boot device could not be found and that I should insert the Windows installation disk and select Repair. I inserted the disk, but kept coming back to the same screen as before. I noticed that the Enter and Escape buttons didn't react either. How can I repair this installation if I can't even get a bootable CD to work?

Hello ColoradoBuc,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum. I will do my best to assist you.

There is a possibility that this issue is caused by corrupt Acronis low-level drivers called SnapApi. Did you have previous versions of Acronis software installed on your Windows 7 machine?

I would recommend the following solution:

1. Were you able to repair your Windows installation using the Windows bootable CD?

2. Have you tried booting into Windows by using Last Good Known Configuration?

3. If #2 works, please use these instructions to manually remove Acronis Snap Api drivers and Acronis timounter driver.

Looking forward to your reply and if you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you.
