Can't backup C: drive with ATI2020

Thread needs solution

I have been using ATI for several years now and everything's been working fine. Recently I upgraded to ATI2020 and I am now having problems backing up my Windows 10 C drive. Other drives backup fine. I have two scheduled backups defined for this drive, one to a local USB drive and one to a Synology NAS on my LAN. There is plenty of space available at each location. Both are failing in the same manner. The backup seems to start ok, but after a few seconds and around 17 MB if stops with an unknown status. I downloaded the log viewer and am attaching a sample log here (USB drive) in the hopes it may yield some clues to those who know more than I do. :) Well, I tried uploading the log file using the Upload button here in the forum post, but it tells me it could not be uploaded even thought it is a .log file. Weird. So instead, I have pasted the contents below. Thanks in advance. John 1/5/2020 6:46:04 AM: -05:00 49116 I00000000: ----- 1/5/2020 6:46:04 AM: -05:00 49116 I00000000: ATI Demon started. John, welcome to these public User Forums.

The log data is very difficult to read as pasted but looks to show that you have a VSS snapshot issue causing the error.

The first recommendation is to do a full Windows restart to clear any issues caused by Windows having been active for some time due to Windows Fast Start using hybrid sleep instead of doing a full shutdown / restart.

To do a full shutdown, press & hold the Shift key while clicking on Shutdown.

Next, download the Acronis VSS Doctor tool and run this as Administrator (after first restarting the system), and if issues are identified, let the tool resolve these if possible.

Thanks very much Steve... I will give this a shot and let you know how I make out.

Cheers.
