Image mounts ok but need permissions to open folder

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis True Image Home 2011, Update 1 (build 6597). I can mount an image ok, but when I try to open a document folder in the image I get a message that says "You don't currently have permission to access this folder. Click Continue to permanentlyget access to this folder". When I click continue I get the message "You have been denied permission to access this folder."
I am logged in as administrator already and I should already have all the permissions I need. Not sure what to do next.

Ken, try to restore the folder you are trying to open and change the permissions in Windows.

Thanks for your reply. I really don't want to restore the folder as it is an older image and if I restore it, I think it will overwrite my current folder. I just want to open the document folder in that image (which is mounted) and then retrieve one particular document from that folder. By the way, I forgot to mention that I am running Windows 7 home premium.

Don't mount it. Open image and drill to file, right click and copy. Leave the image window open, open a new window where you want to copy the file to. Paste.

Wow. Didn't know I could just "open" an image without mounting it. Anyway, your solution worked for me....exactly what I wanted to do. Thanks.

Ken,

You can also select to just restore files/folders from the image. In your case, you would have also selected to restore them to an alternate location. This is what Pat L was suggesting. However, exploring the image and just copying out what you want is generally easier (when it works).
