Backup dual boot SSD question?
I have a dual boot Windows 10 & Ubuntu laptop, will TI just back up Windows or the whole SSD as I may have to return my laptop and would love to just restore and go through the pain of setting 2 OSs up again?
If it does, as mainly a Ubuntu user my last TI licence is from 2016, would that do it or should I have to upgrade to 2020?
many thanks in advance

Adrian, you can backup a dual-boot laptop using most versions of ATI where the whole SSD drive can be included in the backup image.
The main factor with having EXT4 partitions is that prior to ATI 2020, these were not being handled correctly by ATI which resulted in a larger backup because Acronis switched to using sector-by-sector mode for the partitions. That issue is corrected in ATI 2020.
ATI is only available for installation on either Windows or MacOS, there is no Linux installer but it does support backing up Linux filesystems of specific types.
You can make a full disk backup from within Windows 10 or else you can boot the laptop from the Acronis Rescue Media to do the same.
See forum topic: EXT4 partition backup (Linux). for more details of the above issue.
