Acronis will not backup my computer

Thread needs solution

I have tried most everthing to get Acronis to backup my computer. I go to "ACRONIS" program and enter BACKUP and I get a message "The backup has failed." I thought it may have been my external HD so I tried another, same results.

More detail is required.

What version and build are you using?

What OS?

Has it ever worked for you since installation?

Is you external drive USB connected or networked or Firewire etc?

As you get a message that 'The backup has failed' does this mean it actually starts and then fails?

What are you backing up, a complete disk/partition or files and folders?
