TI 2010 will not accept remote resource authentication settings
When attempting to create a new disk image backup from my machine C: drive to a folder on an NAS (Synology DS509+), after creating a backup file name and selecting OK, I always get the warning that "You have selected a remote resource and have not specified credentials for it. . . .". This occurs in spite of the fact that I did select the destination folder on the NAS in the left window, specify authentication settings using the Authentication Settings button, and successfully test them. Is there something else I need to do to set the Authentication Settings? Thanks for your help.

Hello,
I'm using the netbook edition of True Image on an Asus Netbook with Windows XP and I experienced the same problem.
The solution: Uncheck the "Use NT-authentification" checkbox (the name may differ, I have a German version of True Image where it is called "NT-Authentifizierung verwenden") which is checked by deafult. Afterwards True Image remembers user name and password.

Hello all,
the topic of this threat fits for my problem unless it's a bit different.
I'm using a dual-boot configuration (Win XP / Win 7) on my PC and have access to a server (Linux/Samba). I'm using Acronis True Image Home 2010 build 6.053.
On the server I have access to several subdirectories (NO rights in the root-dir), one of them is used for my backups (\\192.168.0.14\imagetr). This directory is also mapped as drive S: in both OS.
The backup-job is timed to start at 1 in the morning when I'm (usually ;) ) logged off from Windows. So I have to fill in my authentification data to get this to work.
Until this point is all the same in WinXP and Win7.
In WinXP all works fine: the backup was done every night.
In Win7 I always get an error message when I try to test my previously entered authentification data, saying "wrong username or password". (Overriding this message by saying use it anyway didn't work either) To prevent wrong typing I do a copy/paste of username and password from explorers "connect new network drive" function when mapping \\192.168.0.14\imagetr to drive S:. (Drive S: is mapped but Acronis says "wrong user/pwd").
Is there maybe a known problem with the combination of win7/samba/ATIH or something else?
Thanks in advance,
Tom

Hi Bob,
it seems, as if one of the last windows-updates fixed my problem. Maybe it will work for you as well.
