Necessary to do File Backups?

I image once per day and it seems I can get all the file information needed from an image.

Is it really necessary to do file backups?

It probably isn't necessary. Some users like to keep file backups as well as image backups, though. It really depends on what type of backups you like and what level makes you comfortable. If you already have multiple backups available for all your files, having another one probably isn't going to make a difference.
