Management Server not receiving automated updates

Thread needs solution

We are running Acronis Cyber Backup on-prem solution but am unable to get automatic updates.

I am looking for information such as Port number used target DNS/URL the management server uses to obtain updates from Acronis so that I can reach out to my client's security team to investigate

Thanks in advance

Hello Margaret,

thank you for posting on Acronis forums!

Do you see any error messages? Please share it with us.

I am looking for information such as Port number used target DNS/URL the management server uses to obtain updates from Acronis so that I can reach out to my client's security team to investigate

  • TCP port 43234 for remote installation and remote upgrade (TCP port 9876 has been used prior to Update 2 of Acronis Backup 12.5)
  • TCP ports 445 and 25001 for remote installation

Hi Maria

I only get an error when I manually check for updates on the management GUI. The error is "No connection to the update server. Please try again later"

Have just looked at the 12.5 online documentation shows Connection 1 from the management server is defined as "Download installation components: 80 to dl.acronis.com".

https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/AcronisCyberBackup_….

Could you please clarify for me?

Thanks

Margaret

Hello Margaret!

I only get an error when I manually check for updates on the management GUI. The error is "No connection to the update server. Please try again later"

If you are trying to update Agents on Linux, then please check the respective KB article for a solution: https://kb.acronis.com/content/68683

Have just looked at the 12.5 online documentation shows Connection 1 from the management server is defined as "Download installation components: 80 to dl.acronis.com"

This is an HTTP port for downloading updates onto Acronis Management Server. For updating remote Agents you should check section 6 of that table:

6. Remote installation:

  • Update 1 and earlier: 445, 25001, 9876
  • Update 2 and later: 445, 25001, 43234

Hi Maria

Thank you for the clarification. It is downloading updates to the management server that I am having an issue with. Will raise request with my client for http port.

Thanks
