How do I create a disc image that excludes a few folders? TI2010
I want to make a disc image of my C: drive.
I do not want the image to include My Documents or a few other folders. I back My Documents and these other folders up a few times a week.
I do not want the OS backup image to be so large. There is no need to include folders I will be replacing in the event of an OS image reinstallation.
I do not know if the back up folders and files option will work as a disc image of the OS if I need to reinstall my OS.
How do I create a disc image that excludes a few folders?

Smart thinking. There is no exclusion option when doing a disk option backup.
Don't forget, if you have a Vista or Win 7 system, it is best to have all the partitions (recovery & non-lettered partitions included) to be included in at least one of your disk option backup. This is especially true if you need to create a new replacement disk. Having all the partition inside the backup just makes creating a new disk so much easier.

Barry,
With 2011, you can exclude folders. See attachments.
Click the blue exclusions link in the backup configuration windows.
Check "files matching the following criteria"
Click browse, select your folder, OK
Click add

GroverH,
Thank You
Pat L,
I have 2010. Only bought TrueImage to back up my OS drive image with windows updates and a few progs I knew I would reinstall in the event of corruption or a drive failure.
Not going to pay for a lack of planning or lack of consideration by acronis concerning needed options for potential consumers in this type of program. The exclude folder option should have been included in what I already paid for which was supposedly a thorough program. Charging for feature updates that should have been in the original program is simply greed.
On the positive side, TI works extremely well and surprisingly fast backing up an OS disc image drive.

2010 has folder exclusions too. Don't forget trailing backslash.

Thank You dev-anon.
Do not know why I did not try that. Perhaps I was thinking since there was no browse button that it would not work. I am not paying another 30.00 for a limited edition TI2011 browse button.
