BOOTMGR is missing after recovery with TI Home 2010

Thread needs solution

My notebook has Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I use the TI Home 2010 Trial. I backed up my system drive (C:), then I reboot my PC with TI Recovery disk (CD). After the recovery, my PC can not boot to Windows and I got "BOOTMGR is missing" message. I had to use my Windows 7 disk to fix this issue.
1. I used to have the old TI Home version and I used it with Window XP. So, I have experience with True Image software. I don't think that I did any mistake when I use TI Home 2010.
2. I search the Knowledge Base and found that other people also have the same issue. Is there a bug in TI 2010?

I want to confirm that TI 2010 is a good software before I buy it. Please help.

Hello An,

Thank you for your post. I want to welcome you to our forum and I will definitely help you with this issue.

I have checked our internal database and found to known issues in our software that causes the situation that you refer to.

Unfortunately without additional diagnostic information it is very difficult to say what caused it. From your description and the error message it looks like after the recovery Windows 7 was trying to look from which partition to boot and could not find it. After you repaired the master boot record the issue was resolved.

To get to the bottom of this we would require an Acronis report from the initial machine as well as from the unbootable one.

Please let me know if you need additional help.

Thank you.

since you litterly have tons of users with this issue, this is a typical lame Acronis response. I think I am done, I started with you on version 6 with bugs (had to suggest that you add a verification feature- duh), and have never been confident my restorals would work- Once agin disapointed- had to try to redo my laptop from a clunky 620gb 5400rpm to a new 7200rpm for a trip- stuck in here dealing with BOOTMGR is MISSING for HOURS and no love.

I will rebuild from scratch and will not re-install TI- will find something that actually does what I paid for ! (peace of mind, not headaches and excuses)
