Backing Up to network share
Hi
I have just downloaded the trial version of True Image Home 2011 to my Windows 7 x64 PC.
Is it me, or does it seem unstable? I created a regular 1 hour backup to backup My Documents to a network share.
Problems encountered were:-
1. Another full backup was randonly created in the middle of incremental backups and then listed as a separate backup on the main screen. Exploring this image gave the root of the file structure, but contained no files.
2. Shutting down Windows now gives the "waiting for operations to complete" message and takes about a minute to shut down. Usually my PC does this in about 10 seconds.
3. The backup is attempted even if the network share isn't there (e.g. when connecting my laptop to my work network). Shouldn't it verify that the backup location exists before starting the process?
4. Sometimes the main page of the application fails too load. i.e. it does nothing after accepting the UAC dialog.
5. Doesn't attempt to clean up or resume partial backups. e.g. if the PC or network is cut off part way through a backup, the partially created file should be either deleted or repaired. It doesn't seem to do this.
As it stands I am looking at an alternative product as so far it is not giving me any confidence. I have used True Image 9 for the last 4 years with no problems on my previous Windows XP machine.
Has anyone else experienced any of the above? Can anyone put my mind at rest regarding the reliability of the product?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the info.
1. Windows 7 SP1? No, that was already installed.
2. Ah, so it's a problem with enabling validation, or enabling missed tasks or the idle option. I read about the former, and disabled validation. It's a shame they haven't fixed this issue.
3. Yes it's annoying seeing the errors keep flagging up, as you know it's just because the network location doesn't exist as you're on another network.
4. Hmm... it hasn't done it since.
5. Yes I know, it could always let you know there was an invalid file found and offer to delete it.
I'll give it another go then. When it does work it seems brilliant, and the UI is very slick. The issue is I'm not sure whether to trust it or not yet. :-)
