(1) Latest Version? (2) VM Ware Fusion XP Work on Mac?
(1) My version of Acronis True Image Home 11 is Build 8,027. The latest on your site is 6996. Can a newer version have a lower version number? Would like to know before I try to upgrade.
(2) Am using a quad core MacPro with 12 gigs memory Mac OS X 10.6.7 running VM Ware Fusion 3.1.2 and MS XP Pro.
I was able to backup the Boot Camp drive, I think. I did not choose a second partition, a 200 meg "Pri."
In backing up Boot Camp I encountered seven E00040014 Warnings, "Access to the file is denied...Retry." Each time i clicked on "Retry" it continued and I finally received, at the end, a, "Successfully Completed" message. Any idea if it was successful? Does TI Home 11 work with VM Ware? I can't find instructions on how to do it.
I will try to verify the backup but if the prog said it was successfully completed might the verification give the same erroneous message?
The file was saved on an Ext HD. Would I have less chance of error if I had saved it to the Virtual "C" and then transferred it?
Or, do VM Ware Fusion, Boot Camp and Acronis not work together?

Just looked at the original Ext HD and it's a series of backup files all 24 gigs with ascending extension numbers, i.e. "1," "2" etc.
So, tried backing it up to the XP Pro desktop. No error messages. Same size file but one file I will do that from now on and then just move it to the Ext HD.
My prog is Acromis True Image 11 Home with the higher build number than is online.
Thanks.

Your one is that one from 2008.

Trueimage was never guaranteed/supported to work on Apple computers (in bootcamp too).

Thanks for the version explanation. Somewhat confusing, although i have used it sparingly over the years anyway.
As luck would have it I now am unable to copy what I assume was the the .tib complete, verified archive to any one of my Ext. HDs and the file does not, as far as i can tell have a read only setting. Oh well, it was an idea. I really don't have that much data on the XP side anyway. I will look for a prog that can do the complete backup/
