locate the volume with number 1

Thread needs solution

Hello.

I got 2 older .tib files, from 2007. I would like to open them to see if they have content i still need. Because of that, i isntallled a trial versopn of Acronis Cyber protect Home Office. But when i open those files, both are asking for a volume with number 1.The files are several hundred gb's large.

Anyone who knows if it is somehow possible to get acces to the content of these files?
Thank you.

Hello!

Welcome to the forum.

Please check the following Knowledge Base (KB): https://kb.acronis.com/content/1689.

There is a list of compatibilities between the backup files and the respective version of the program. You need to be sure of the version that executed the backup first.

Afterward, you need to check if you deleted backups manually. If yes, that chain is corrupted and can't be restored. The error indicates that backup slices are missing. If that's the case, that chain is probably corrupted.

You can try to add the backups manually to the vault following this KB: https://kb.acronis.com/content/60918.

From there, try to validate them. If the validation fails, it means they are corrupt: https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATI2022/index.html#38839.html#kanchor145.

Best regards.
