TI WD version, slow, now this is really slow

Thread needs solution

I doubt this has to do with it being the WD edition, but I think I might have the record for slow. I actually think the slow issue is a drive issue(yes, my drives are set to DMA mode) because using Paragon's disk partioning software also took forever to complete.

When the TI backup process started it said it would take about 4 days, but look at the enclosed image, it says I now have 136 years to go. I don't think I can wait that long. Anyway, I think the 4 days is fairly accurate, but I think I also found a bug in the time calculation code too.

I sure wish I could figure out why my drive has gotten so slow.

Oh, I forgot to say that I'm backing up around 280GB of a 360GB partition on a 1TB internal WD drive onto an external USB WD 1TB drive on an empty 300GB partition. It's the external drive that's slow. BTW both drives were defragged before starting the process.

I know it's been months, but Bill, were you ever able to resolve the speed issue?

I started a full backup over USB 2.0 to my WD 1.5TB Book drive (something like yours). The total image as calculated by TI is 180GB. The backup drive is only 60% full. It's now run 14 hours and claims another 7 to go. This seems ridiculous to me, even taking into account less than steller performance of USB....
