T&D never discards changes
I've upgraded to ATIH2011 in the hope of getting rid of problem I have of late with
ATIH2010, whereby the Try&Decide utility never discards changes but makes them permanent
after reboot.
ATIH2011v6597 appears to have inherited this problem.
Please note that:
- T&D/ATIH2010 has worked fine until two months ago;
- the only way to detect this malfunction is finding the changes still in place after reboot
(no slowdown, no warnings, no unusual behaviour);
- the folder C:\LoaderData is empty before, during and after T&D;
- no "T&D Service" is listed in Computer Management Console;
- I moved the temporary storage location used by T&D from partition C: to ASZ (30GB), to no
avail;
- my system is WinXP Pro SP3 + Notebook Asus A8E;
- I don't remember modifying sensitive parts of the system (registry, services or whatever)
or installing heavy software before this problem's inception;
- apart from that, ATIH2011 works normally (as ATIH2010 did).
T&D is a handy utility: is there a way to have it work again?
Any help is welcome.
(Be assured I searched the Forum before posting this issue; if I missed the answer please
direct me).

Hi, Fred!
I'm sorry I am so late in reading your post, but Sundays are the only days for attending to these things in peace.
I think you hit the problem: to confirm your conclusions I have just installed ATIH2011v6597 on a fresh notebook, i.e. a computer with only Win7 Pro and Kaspersky installed, and there T&D works normally.
No hidden leftovers then no T&D malfunctions, right as you said.
So it appears that a full migration from the old machine to the new one is the only way to get back T&D.
A time consuming process, but better so than wasting time on the quest for nonexistent fixes.
Bye Fred, and thanks again!

Vitruvius,
Hello...Happy that i could help.... I just wish that Acronis would have an "uninstaller" That was simple.. not having to download other programs that it supposedly "works with" to remove their program. Seems "kinda goofy" that they seem unable to give the "uninstaller" that really works from the "geko", right along with their program ...Go figure.

Hello Fred,
you get me to remember uninstalling ATIH2009 clean, long ago, to make room for a differently localized version, and it was a complicated process wich involved cleanup utilities both from Acronis and Microsoft.
Yes, a new, deep-reaching, all-in-one uninstaller would be welcome.
Let's hope, Fred.

ATI T+D depends on Acronis Safe Zone. Acronis Safe Zone needs to be completely removed and recreated from scratch before T+D will work when doing any migration.

Glenn,
Hello... I have not used the Acronis "Secure Zone" in any of my installs of TI Home since v-11..... but if i ever have that "problem" (T&D) again i will try to install the "SZ" and then remove it...and see what happens. So..... i have used the T&D feature without the "SZ" since my original install of 2010, and so far (after re-do of my OS ) all is still well. ...Regards Fred

ATIH2011, problem is the Try&Decide utility never discards changes but makes them permanent after reboot.
I created sz and removed with no luck..
activated and deactivated recovery manager with no luck
my os is xp pro on win SP3..
does the sz need to be on my c drive? and if yes what size should it be? or is it really needed for TD to work..
any help would be greatly appreciated.
