Problems with back up schedule
Update 1 / Build 6696
Windows 7 Home Prem 64 Bit.
Some how program NOT performing its weekly update.
I tried to set up a schedule and to me the process not so easy.
Not sure if I did it right, but even if I did I got a corruption msg- see log.
Please help with providing the steps (I have an internal hard drive (drive E) for all back ups - Acronis, music, docs, etc. My Acronis back ups are supposed to go to :
E/ My Acronis/Weekly.
And help in correcting the corruption issue.
And where do I select Validate? I see that option when doing a Back Up now - but not when setting a schedule.
Thx

Responding to your first post:
Welcome to the learning club of the 2011 version. The 2011 is totally different from past versions although the Rescue CD is very similar to the past.
Fortunately, Acronis has created a significant number of "how to's" for 2011. Click on the green link below inside my signature to a direct link to the "how to's". One of the items listed is about "Validating Backups" which includes the two items listed below. Both are appropriate to your question.
Validate an existing backup manually
Schedule automatic validation
When creating a task, the validation option is inside the "disk backup options" at the bottom of the screen." Then under the advanced tab, it is the 5th item down.
As you are new to 2011, I would strongly recommend that you spend some time browsing through some of the "how to's." Also, my guides can be of assistance and these are listed along the left margin of this webpage and the yellow link inside my signature below. You will need to invest some research learning time.
In looking at your attachment, (which I had trouble viewing), I found this information.
"Error occurred while creating the file."
"The system cannot find the path specified"
Click Browse to specify another location,Retry to try again, or click Cancel
TrueImage has trouble when the backup filename includes parenthesis. I suggest you create a new task and eliminate the (C). One example might be to change the name of the backup file from
E:\My backups\Local_disk_(C).tib
to
E:\My backups\Localdisk_C__.tib
Should you want us to assist in your task creation, advise
a. what type of backups you want to create (full only or full plus additional incremental or differential, if so--how many)
b. How many weekly backups you wish to retain, etc.
c. What day and time is the backup to occur.
d. Is this a "disk and partition" backup or a "Files and Folders" backup?

Thanks - will try your suggestions
I am trying to do a full backups - no additionals.
And (once) weekly
thx
Update - removed the (C) in the name and get a "Specified file does not exist"
Oh - and "back up is corrupted" remark while the back up is taking place is not good ?
But the back up ends up and good and Validated !
Had a thought-
This started when I installed a SSD drive. However I was able to clone my HHD onto the SSD and the back up drive (Drive E) was never affected.
Should I uninstall Acronis TIH 2011 and re-install it?
I gather Acronis TIH supports SSD's.

Yes, uninstalling and reinstalling could help. If you just edited the task without recreating a new one, that did not solve the issue.
I would ALSO check the disk for errors.
ChkDsk C: /R
Is this a full backup of a C partition or is this a full backup of "files only" on C?
It would also be beneficial if your were to validate the last backup with the validation being the only thing occurring. You could be prompted several times where TI is looking for prior files. Your response would most likely be ignore so to get back on the right track.

yes it was an edit of the previous Task - in fact I could not figure out out to delete a task and start over.
Sounds like Re-install the way to go.

Update -
Un-install and a Re-install did the trick.

Great!
If you have not checked your disk for errors in the past few months, it might be worthwhile to do.
Good luck in the future.

if you mean chk'ing the back up drive - did so about 3 weeks ago.
otherwise the SSD is new.
