Validation Job cancelled after backup created successfully

Thread needs solution

Hello,

Using Acronis True Image Home 11 on a Windows Vista system with an external drive as the location of the backup. I have a backup job that is run unattended during the night. The log reports that the backup is created and indeed I can see the file on the disk.

I have it setup to validate after each backup. However, it reports that it can not find the file, and so it cancels the job.

If I manually run verification, it verifies the file without problem.

I have attached the log file. If there is any additional information needed please let me know.

Thank you.

No easy answer. First time I see this.

The important thing is that you can validate successfully manually.

Is this ATI v11 or ATI 2011?

If you don't schedule the validation right after the backup, but on a different schedule. Does the validation go through?

I would try to rerun the installer and see if the problem subsist (might be a script or scheduler corruption issue).

If this doesn't solve. Move your current backup to a hidden folder on the same disk. Delete the backup task within ATI, uninstall ATI, reboot, reinstall ATI. Recreate your task.

ATI 2011

By scheduling the validation about an hour after the backup (as you suggested), it worked fine. The log reports that both the backup and the validation were completed successfully.

Thank you very much for your help.

Your initial problem validation not finding the file it has just created has been around for a long time with no solution so far from Acronis.

BTW when it reported it could not find the file did it give a fully qualified file name in the log entry?
