Option to Validate Backups by Default
All previous versions of True Image had a setting in OPTIONS to set Validate Backups as a default option. I do not see this option in the current version. I can set the individual backup to validate, but not make it a default setting. Am I missing it somewhere? Thanks.

I couldn't agree with you more .... must be the same "genius" that adopted the feature from Vista (?) that requires you to hit the Alt key before you see the Help menu, to get at the Build #.

Is it possible to change the defaults for "archive validation" and "compression level" for a standalone boot DVD?

With ATI 2010 and 2011 you can specify the validation and compressions settings for each backup task individually.

Yes, but I would like to change the default settings so that I don't have to do it manually for each backup. Is that possible for a standalone boot DVD? Thanks.

Yes. You go to operations > edit backup settings > Advanced Tab > Validation > Validate after backup.
Then ATI will run the backup and the validation directly after.

Is there a way to avoid having to go through those steps every time I perform a standalone backup? I would like for validation afterwards to be the default.

Once you have set up your task, everytime you run it, the validation setting will be the same. Everytime you set up a NEW task, you will have to set up the validation appropriately.
In other words, if you run the same backup everytime, you set it up once.
