Can't boot system after new 2010 TI upgrade

Thread needs solution

I am running XP SP2 all updates. I have been using True Image since the 2003 product and never had a problem. After installing the current 2010 product without any problems. I reboot the computer and the XP screen loads and then the "blue screen of death" flashes for a second and the computer does a warm reboot. I can not even boot the system in safe mode. Thank goodness that I have disk images to reload, as I have done this several time with the same results. Has any one else had or heard of this problem.
Thanks.

Yes, there are others with the same problem .... don't recall if there was any resolution though. A forum search should find you those threads.

Not sure this will help, but I too had this issue, but not with TI.

I have disk director, and had Storagecraft imaging software loaded simultaneously. There is a known collision between DD and Storagecraft imaging software... do a google on it.

Once I uninstalled the storagecraft product, all has been working well since.

My recommendation. If this started well after installing ti 2010, start uninstalling all apps loaded AFTER TI, one by one, until the problem goes away. (That;s how I found the collision TI <-->Storagecraft, THEN I did some research and learned this was a known incompatibility)

As an alternative, boot into safe mode, I assume that will work, disable all acronis services, then boot into normal mode and uninstall TI and see if the problem goes away. NOTE, on my installation of XP64, you can not uninstall apps in safe mode. Hence, kill the services, try re-booting normally, then uninstall.

HOPE this helps....

Hello Charlesn56,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

In order to investigate the issue please attach crush dump create after BSOD, it will show the source of the issue. Please do the following in order to enable mini-dumps:

- Right click on "My Computer" and choose "Properties";

- Go to "Advanced" tab;

- Go to "Startup" and "Recover Settings";

- Choose "Small memory dump" in "Write debugging information" box;

- Close all the dialog windows by clicking OK buttons.

Now, please reproduce the system crash and send us the mini-dumps created. This will allow us to investigate the problem thoroughly.

If you have an inbuilt card reader, then disable it through Windows Device Manager and let us know if the issue persists.

1.      Hit Win-R to get to the command prompt;

2.      Type in devmgmt.msc and hit Enter;

3.      In the Device Manager window locate your card reader (it probably starts with letters SD, MMC etc);

Right-click on the card reader and select Disable.
