32 bit application doesn't restore all files

Thread needs solution

I have disk backups that contain large number of files that I try to restore using the 32 bit application on Windows 7 systems that I just want to restore the data from to another drive. I have tried the 2010 version as well as the latest version and both will start restoring the files but when I go to the restored folders some files are missing. I have been successful with the boot disk with getting all of the files restored but in some situations I am unable to boot the acronis boot disk to recover the data. If I only restore small number of files at a time it will work but in one case there are too many files even in one folder and the process just disappears after a while without any errors or other indications that it wasn't successful. It seems to be similar to the windows problem of copying where if it has a problem with a particular file it stops the operation. I've tried this on multiple PC's and have tried the restore from a external USB drive as well a having the backup file on the local harddrive and restoring to a different folder location on the same harddrive. I have not tried using the application in safemode yet but I was wondering if anyone has run into this problem and found a way to restore large amounts of data with the application.

Do you restore it from the program's interface or 'copying' and 'pasting' files from windows explorer view after clicking on the archive?

Very good point. I've been using the windows explorer to open the backup. I completely forgot that you could run the interface in windows. I'll give that a try. Thanks.
