Acronis Loader Fatal Error Boot Drive (partition) Not Found
Tried with Full bootable version and Safe version - neither work on my old laptop that i bought in 2006. However on my recent laptop, loaders worked which makes me wondering - why problem on old laptop?

Only disabled SATA in BIOS and still same problem. Forgot to switch setting to original and booted into Windows, but everything was fine. I don't have older version of TI.

What are alternatives? I cannot boot Acronis on this laptop then what can be done to restore my backed up data?

You would need to create either a BartPE or WinPE based rescue CD.

You could certainly try using Grub4DOS. Just understand that it will be loading the same version of TI and it may still have problems (depends what the actual cause is).

It's not that hard to do with Grub4DOS, especially if you use the ISO method. Have you looked at my guide?
Creating a BartPE or WinPE-based CD for the first time may seem difficult, but it's while worth the effort to learn. Once you have it down, it's usually a simple matter to add stuff and tweak it until you get what you want.

I understand why you don't insist on Grub4Dos. It is because i will still boot in MS-DOS environment, right? And with BartPE or WinPE i will boot into Windows environment?
