email notification acronis 10 not working

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I've spent a few hours trying to figure out why this acronis product fails to connect to our exchange server. I've read through the setup tutorials, and haven't had getting this to work.

Using another test pop3 server, like gmail or netfronts works fine... I've verified there is no firewall issue as I'm able to telnet into that pop3 account and send mail without issues, furthermore the pop3 account I'm using sets up fine in outlook and other pop3 clients without any additional setup.

As far as I've read many people have had this issue with their exchange server/acronis products. The error that is generated from the test email reads "login to pop3 server has failed". If anyone could shed some light on this issue it would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

-Exchange server 2007, latest updates
-have tried on multiple computers with acronis backup installed--same issue
-pop3 enabled account, tested working from other pop3 clients, tested using alternate pop3 server works fine
-not a firewall issue, only seems to be a login problem with acronis products

POP3 is used to retrieve messages.

SMTP is used to SEND messages. An Acronis usually will send a message to an admin (Success or Failure) the result of a task

an exchange server ... usually does NOT require authentication if you are sending a message within your domain. (One local user to another)

I don't know if this helps you.
