Haven't had any luck finding the answer to the problem, hoping the moderator will have a solution.

Try starting from within the Recovery CD. If that is already what you are using, then try opening Acronis inside Windows and attempt the start from there.

I can't believe that you actually gave that as an answer, and then I can't believe that the people who posted on this thread seemed to take it as a valid answer (or there would have been other posts after yours).

Of course you can use the CD -- if you remember where it is, and of course you can start it up in Windows -- IF Windows is still working, but the purpost of the F11 tool is so that if you DON"T have the bootup CD anymore (because you've lost it) and if Windows ISN'T working then you CAN still use Acronis to access your backup so you can MAKE it work.

You were saying... What is the solution to this error code?

I'm asking because I HAVE the same problem NOW, and this is the only sorry "solution" in the entire Acronis "Knowledge Base" and it ISN'T a solution.

Barry,

Grover is saying that if you cannot activate the ASRM from Windows, you have to try from the CD and vice-versa. This is about activating the ASRM only. Of course, you need to activate it before you need it, otherwise, if you cannot boot into Windows, you have to use the CD anyway, and if you can, then you don't need the ASRM.

If the activation doesn't work, you have to make sure you uninstall, reboot, install (the latest build).

If this still doesn't work, knowing that activating the ASRM requires writing to the MBR, make sure you don't have software or BIOS settings that protect the boot sectors of your disk.

At any rate, always make sure your CD is working on your computer, because the ASRM won't be available if the disk simply dies.
