Abort automatic clone after computer locks
How do I abort automatic clone after computer locks?
I am using Acronis True Image Home 11.0 on a Gateway with XP SP3...
Trying to clone my HDD to have an exact replica of my system.
I click clone disk, automatic, select the source and destination drives, select delete partitions on destination drive, then reboot the computer to start the cloning.
It locked the computer and started the reboot. (I did not have a boot disk in the drive.) It is now stationary on a normal boot up screen, which is good because after reading through these forums I want to cancel and start over doing the manual clone because I want my source disk left alone for now.
Before I push any more buttons, I need to know which button to push! I am thinking the ‘off’ button but I want it to start properly when I turn it back on.
If I do a hard restart at this point, will the computer start normally? I am unsure about the locking thing.
Thanks for your help. These forums are great!!!

Thanks, Pat. I held my breath and said please, pushed the off button and restarted my computer. It booted normally.
All is fine, WHEW!!! I had unplugged the destination drive and with no other boot orders, I think it had no direction, it had to give up!! ;)
