Restore is completly, but Bootmgr is missing
Hello everybody,
My Windows 7 was installed at a slow IDE Drive. I wanted to "copy" it on my new SSD Drive. So i created a backup from my IDE Drive (only 1 Partition with Windows) and the 100MB-System-reserved-drive.
I restored the windows partition at the new drive. But i can't boot - Bootmgr is missing (bzw. Bootmgr fehlt, i'm german).
What can i do now? I put in my Windows 7 DVD and startet the repairing - but it says, that there is no problem. I also tryed at the cmd:
bootrec /fixmbr everything OK
bootrec /fixboot everything OK
bootrec /rebuildbcd but this one can't find any windows installation.
What can i do now?? I need fast help, i need the PC to work with it.
P.S.: I createt the Backup with True Image Home 2010

ok, it works - nearly...
Now i can boot. But i get "Desktop wird vorbereitet" in english i think "Desktop becomes ready" or "Desktop will be prepared". It needs some minutes and then i get a blue background with a cursor and thats it. With CTRL ALT and DEL i can open the task manager, then i can start the explorer. A Popup comes, it says, that I'm logged in into a temporarly profile, and I can't access to my Files. I click at Computer, then "Interface is not suported"... System control the same, i get a long code with { } additionaly...
All is in german, i try to translate it correctly.
EDIT: I can open about "New Task" in the Taskmanager programms and files. I tryed also "sfc /scannow"
Did you restore both the system reserved partition and the C:\Windows partition?
Was there any other partition on the disk you backed up?
If no, try to restore again. Otherwise, make sure that all partitions are in the backup.
To try again, read the entire instructions to make sure you have all what you need before starting:
- Put your SSD at the same spot as the IDE disk. Move the IDE disk out of the computer.
- Boot the computer on the Acronis REcovery Medium ("CD" or flash drive) that you have prepared.
- Start ATI from the CD.
- In tools, click add new disk, select you SSD, acknowledge all data will be erased
- Browse to your backup.
- First restore the 100MB system reserved partition alone. The new destination is your SSD. Mark the new partition primare and active. When the sizing dialog box appears, leave a 1MB space before the partition, do not resize it. Do not change the drive letter. FInish the restore. This will be fast.
- Without rebooting, restore the C:\partition. Mark it primary only. You can resize it to take advantage or your SSD. Make sure to leave enough space for any other partition. Do not change the drive letter. Restore
- Restore any other partition you have like a Recovery partition, or any non-user partition. Do not resize them.
- FInally, restore the MBR+Track0 and the disk signature.
Reboot. It should work right away.
Once the computer has rebooted, you might want to:
- adjust the BIOS settings to put the SSD in SATA or AHCI mode if this is supported by your motherboard,
- put the older disk back in to use it.
Which MBR & Track 0 I have to restore?
The 100 MB partition was on an other drive. So I can restore the MBR & Track 0 from the 100MB drive and from the old windows drive...
Do not restore the MBR+track0 then. You will have to use the Win7 DVD to repair the start up and rebuild the MBR. After you have restored the partitions, boot on the Win 7 DVD, choose install, repair startup. It might a couple of passes since one thing gets fixed at a time.
OK, I followed your way. I restored only the windows partition. After I restored, I unplugged all other drives. Then I started with my Windows-USB-Stick and tryed the repair. I tryed this i think 4 or 5 times, the repais startup finde the problem and repairs it, but I get "Bootmgr is missing". In the details is following text:

Oh my god, it's so simple...
After I click at computer repair at the setup, the setup is searching for the Windows installations - I think you know that. Then it says directly, that the setup found the problem and want to repair it (the text from the details you see in my post before this one). I pressed everytime yes, but it doesn't repaired it.
But now I pressed "No" and came to the window, where I can select some things (computer repair, load system restore point, use command prompt and so on...). There i selectet the first, repair computer start problem - and now it works!

But... my network don't works? It says, I don't have plugged in my cable... But I have, and my router blinks slowly at this port...
Verify that your cable is really plugged in correctly.
Yes, it is. I tryed a different cable, but same problem. And the router blinks slowly at this port, so the router identified a partner
EDIT: Ok, i tryed following: properties of the network adapter, configuration, advanced. At "Speed & Duplex" was "automatic handling". I switched to 100 Mbit/s Full duplex, and it works. But: my router and my network adapter can 1Gbit/s - I want it for the fast file transfer between a second Gigbit Computer in my network. If i select 1Gbit/s or automatic handling, the network adapter says, there is no cable plugged in...

Try to uninstall the driver of your adapter and install the latest driver.
