Would this be possible

Thread needs solution

Hello everybody. Lets say i have a Desktop PC with 2 Hard Dives and created a backup image...Now, if i have a laptop with only 1 hard drive (but with the same amount of storage) could i still install the .tib file to the laptop and have a clone of my home computer? Thanks in advance

The answer to your question is 'yes' and 'no' . I'm assuming you are asking of you can restore the PC imager to the laptop, not just store the tib file.

The image can be restored however it may not boot (depends on if the OS is XP or Vista/W7) and if it does boot it won't have the corrrect drivers for the laptop. If you are using XP this is fixed by running a repair install, and then loading on the laptop drivers, if W7 things are more complicated.

There is also Microsoft licensing to consider.

If you just need to clone a hard drive so that you can slip it into the PC if there is ever a problem, then this is easy to do.
