Bootable CD does not finish loading

Thread needs solution

Hello, I have TIH 11 and have created a bootable CD. When attempting to boot the PC from the CD it will proceed past the blue Acronis splash screen and begin the black screen with white text that indicates it is loading Acronis. At that point the screen goes blank and nothing ever happens. The PC has 3 HDD but no RAID. Each HDD has more than one partition. Does anyone have any ideas on what might cause this?

This looks like you have a Linux driver issue. The recovery CD is running a Linux-based version of ATI.

Do you have ATI v11 or ATI 2011?

If 2011, did you create your CD with the latest build?

Pat,

I am using ATI 2011 and performed an ATI software update to the latest build yesterday just prior to creating the CD

You should post here again.

If you are using XP you could try to create a BartPE-based recovery CD. If you are using Vista or Win7, your options are:
- to get support from Acronis to solve your issue,
- to purchase the Acronis Pluc Pack which will allow you to create a WinPE-based recovery CD.

Both BartPE and WinPE-based recovery media use Windows drivers and typically solve most of the hardware issues linked to the Linux version.

After talking with support, they have indicated that it is because I have a dual boot setup. So I guess ATI 2011 bootable media will not support dual boot environments?
