FAILURE TO CREATE BACKUP - SHAREDSBE Access Failure

Thread needs solution

I have installed 2012 version having deleted previous version.

Tried on 4 occassions to initialise a backup of files to a USB connected disk. Is almoat complete + 75% on the progress bar and receive the following error message:

"Failed to backup file or folder C: \ProgramData\Microsoft\ehome\SharedSBE\
{1151D14C-E34F-42BE-BFD7-280E5B72807}.TmpSBE

This file or folder is locked by the following process. Please stop the process and click Retry to make another attempt to back up"

The SharedSBE entries appear to be made by Acronis itself in the course of the backup.

Looking at the log produces:

"Error occurred while backing up. (0x40019)
Tag = 0xCE54E14DA203B69

No details are given and no back up is produced - empty directory.

Have produced a system log

Using Windows 7 Ultimate

The Acronis help service seems to be flooded with problems so no help there.

Anybody out there can help?

Robert,

Are you making a files and folders backup rather than a partition/disk image?

What uses your ehome folder? If it is accessible by othe rPC's on a network Windows could be preventing access to it.

Yes I am making a files and folder backup. When I tried an image backup, although the size of the data is 165Gb on a 465GB disk I got a size overload as I was using a USB 300GB disk. In the previous version of Acronis this worked - but not on the latest.

The eHome siubdirectory seems to have been set up by Windows Media Centre some time ago, listing various TV stations etc. However, a number of the other subdirectories within eHome have definitely been created by Acronis whilst backing up.

Robert,

In another thread someone has discovered that by selecting all the folders (in their case My documents) caused all the files to be backed up multiple times. When thet unticked everything and just selected the root folder it auto included all the sub folders. Perhaps this would work for you.

Colin,

Thanks for the idea. Unfortunately I've already tried that technique, it was my default mode - and it failed.

I've since done a complete partition back up to another hard disk mounted in my PC. That magically worked. I have re-installed the programme in repair mode just in case there had been some form of corruprion. Still not able to create a folder/files back up.

Bob

Tried once more using the folders/files back up. This time excluded the SharedSBE sub-directory in the selection process. Ran successfully till one minute left and 98% backed up and then hung for well over an hour still showing one minute and not completing!
