Fullbackup to NAS -> Failed to prepare Datastream
Hi,
as I didn't find an exact solution for my problems and I didn't find any explanations to certain error codes I decide to open a new topic.
I want to run True Image Home on a Win7Pro domain Client to perform a single, full back up onto a QNAP NAS. The Folder is assigned through the IP of the NAS and the folder Name (\\192.168.x.x\Client). I get a Popup for the Login Infos for which I use the Admin account. If I click "Test Connection" it says "Connection established".
After starting the job it takes some seconds, I can hear the NAS harddrives start spinning but then the "Failed to prepare Datastream" error pops up. Error codes are the following: 0x000B03E9+0x000B00EB+0x00400024+0x00040014+0x0000FFF0+0x8007052E.
I already tried to access the NAS in all different ways (Folder name, Share name, IP Adress, etc.) and i edited the "Network timeout" setting inside the .tis file from 0 to 75. The problem still exists and I have no clue what to try. Inside the TIS file also the NAS destination is correct (uri=\\192.168.x.x\Client).
I would appreciate some help :)
thank you and best regards,
Ban

Unfortunately I don't have much in the way of ideas and have pretty much the same problem. I had some working backups scheduled. I changed the password on my NAS and the backups started to fail. I edited the backup settings, tried to Browse the destination, edited the credentials to access the NAS, and all appears to be fine. However, the backups still fail.
The odd thing is that if I try to create a new file backup instead of edit the old ones, that new backup will work. I could try to recreate all my backups, but it makes having a backup scheme next to useless when you have to recreate from scratch every time a password changes.
I've experimented with various options for destination and you may want to do the same. I currently use a network location, though I may go back to either an FTP connection or add some pre/post actions to mount a network drive instead of using a UNC name. I tried once before to have a backup id/pwd that never changed and I may try that once again, but I'm getting frustrated enough to toss it all. I feel like I have to fiddle with this backup stuff every weekend.
Hopefully, you'll find another option that works for you.

Does it fail when you run the backup manually or when you schedule it (there is a change of system user between these 2 tasks)?
If you backup manuallly, make sure the User has write rights (not only read) on the QNAP.
If the user has it, try to set a new task, maybe with a small file backup, to make sure ATI can write to the disk.
