Create Bootable Media after defrag or HW / SW Updates?
I'm new to ATIH 2012 and to making various types of backups. Used to just copy data files from C drive to an external hard drive. Not having experienced earlier versions, ATIH 2012 installed easily and the interface and backup wizards make full, differential and incremental backups easy for me. After 3 weeks everything is working perfect although haven't yet had to recover data files or do a system recovery after a crash (main reason I bought ATIH 2012 after spending hours/days reinstalling hw and sw). Using the TIH wizard and a CD, I created a boot disk.
1) After defragging /optimizing the C drive (at least monthly, usually weekly), does a new bootable disk need to be created to replace the previous ATIH bootable disk?
2) If yes, should a new unused CD be used to create another boot disk or can the first CD be used again?
3) Should a new bootable disk be created every time new hardware or software is added?
Thanks!

The bootcd doesn't care what's on your harddrive. when the ati program creates a boot disk it burns a cd image that is independent of the hard drive on which ati is installed. That's for a regular ati bootcd, which doesn't run windows but runs linux so contains it's own built-in drivers.
If you are making a bart or vitspe boot cd, then you would need to include any new hardware drivers so the bootcd could load them when you run the boot cd.

Thanks! Really appreciate the informative and helpful responses.
(I don't have a clue what bart or vitspe are.)

Bart is a mini versio of windows on an optical disk that you can boot from and run some programs. ATI includes a method for making a Bart disk -- check the user guide.
ViastaPE is the same thing except its a mini form of Vista that Microsoft makes availalble. It's not simple making the bart or vista pe disks.
