scheduled backups run 2 hours late
I have a file backup set to run at 1am. For some reason the backup always runs at 3am. Anyone any ideas why? I've attached the AcronisInfo.zip file, hopefully that may help shed some light on this?
Many thanks in advance,
Nick

What OS are you running and if W7 are you using hybrid sleep or real sleep?
TIH will not wake a PC up from deep sleep, but I have found that hybrid sleep tasks do run albeit very slowly.
TIH can be set to prevent the PC from going to sleep until a task has run.

Hi,
thanks for the response. I'm running Windows 7 32bit home premium. I'm not sure of the difference between hybrid sleep and real sleep. I did have things working OK, but I had to use TIH to do a disc restore, and since then, I've had the problems.
Another thing I've tried is to set a backup in about 5 minutes time, then put the computer to sleep - it successfully woke up and run the task - could this be the difference between normal sleep and deep sleep?
thanks,
Nick

What type of sleep does your motherboard allow? That is, is it a 'green' motherboard?
Do you have the hard drive(s) turn off?
Under Power Management in Widnows Control Panel, are the 'Allow Wake Timers' enabled?

sorry, not sure on the green mothernboard aspect. I think the hard drives turn off after an hour. The allow wake timers is definetley on. It seems the 3am start was for a windows update, so that can wake the computer. I may try a full resinstall of TIH and recreate the task and see what happens.

As a last restort, you can also use the Windows Task Scheduler and wake the computer at 1 to do something meaningless or even run the backup task itself
Note bottom of 2012 attachment showing the advance scheduling options. What settings are you using here?
