Getting BSOD regularly with TIH 2012
Any ideas on how to fix this? Happens a lot and did not see this with 2011. Well, a couple of times with 2011.
Cannot even run laptop with 2012 installed as I always get this error with it installed.

(See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/329293 for example.) But can't really help much without more detailed info about your operating system, SP level, etc. Have you tried any or all of the on-screen suggested solutions? In particular, are you able to boot into Safe Mode?
I can boot in to Safe Mode.
It's running Windows 7 HP64bit. 8G of RAM. Built in Intel Graphics. SP level?

SP level = Service Pack level. Sorry about the shorthand, but never mind. For Win7, that info isn't really critical. Successful booting into Safe Mode suggests that a "plain vanilla" VGA start-up (i.e., without non-essential drivers) is okay.
Microsoft has posted a Windows 7 "hotfix" for stop 0x00000050 problems at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/979538 . It usually occurs because of a race condition in a USB video driver, but other graphics setups might also be affected. In any case, it might be worth a try if only to eliminate one possibility.
I'd also suggest checking with your hardware manufacturers' support resources for any similar problem reports. This is often a hardware/driver-related issue as noted, and you'll certainly want to ensure that all of your own hardware drivers are fully updated.

I see Intel has an even newer driver for my graphics. Will try that first. Just hate installing and reinstalling TIH to get through this.

If you're able to uninstall and reinstall TIH successfully, you should probably count your blessings. Others haven't been so lucky. See some other "blue screen" complaints at http://forum.acronis.com/forum/24314 for example.
The very best of good luck finding a solution for yours. In my own case, I've been thinking seriously about reverting to the latest TIH 2011 release, but some of the reported TIH 2012 uninstall issues (even using their so-called "cleanup" tool) make me nervous about trying to get rid of the damned thing. Pretty bad when a "backup and recovery" utility causes so many concerns about total catastrophe. They really should be issuing a product recall along with a public apology for this one IMO.

I should restate what I wrote to be technically correct. I had Windows create a restore point. Then when I tried 2012 again and got the BSOD I did a restore shortly after logging in. You don't have much time before the BSOD occurs.
I wish I had a better idea of what the numbers were for happy customers vs. dissatisfied. I've always like TIH in the past and one main function I really like is for the backup to run when I tell Windows to shutdown. But their support is awful. I've been doing support for many years and I've been having their tech support tell me I know more than they do. They drop the ball, they start the process of troubleshooting from step 1 again and again. It's just plain ridiculous. I have been working with them for over a year on 2011 and providing feedback and log files, etc (told that story here more than once). I finally got fed up and asked for a couple of licenses and the management said the best they could do is give me one free if I bought one. My point is not to whine about this in particular but how they handle their clients/customers. They don't budge and too often give you the impression it's something you are doing wrong and not their product. I have waited weeks just to get a response and only be told..."wait until the next release and it should be fine". Guess what...that B.S. response has never solved anything. It didn't from 2010 to 2011 and from 2011 to 2012. The only thing they consistently do is ask to close the ticket on a case that never gets resolved.
I just want to find out from anyone that's moved on what they are using. I've wasted too much time thinking this would work itself out. From where I sit it doesn't matter to them. Perhaps we're a small enough percentage of their sales not to be too concerned about. I had something like this happen with HP about 1.5 years ago. One of their printers would not play with MS Office 2007. Was a driver issue. I kept pushing until I talked with someone connected to the engineering department. They got back to me a few days later and said the problem was in fact known of but that not a big enough problem to do anything about. So I returned the HP printer and bought an Epson. Bought HP for years. I assumed the new model of that HP printer had the kinks worked out. Who knows.

Well, I didn't install this MS hotfix. IMO this is not the fix. I did install the latest driver from Intel for the Intel HD graphics. This did not solve the problem either. If I go in and set all the Acronis services to manual, stop them and restart I still get this BSOD. The only fix however is to do a complete uninstall and the problem goes right away. Otherwise it's a complete show stopper for me on my HP DM4-1165DX laptop.

Disabling the Acronis services that are visible in the Windows Managment Interface (Nonstop Backup, Sync Agent and Scheduler2) still leaves behind several "required for boot" (start=0x00000000) Acronis driver-filter services in the registry. I'd say that you've come as close as possible to conclusive "proof" of a conflict between one or more of those critical Acronis drivers and your hardware setup. Offhand, however, I can't think of anything else to suggest except to await their "bug fix" release and hope for the best. Either that, or just dump it and forget it.

Do you, or anyone reading this, have a suggestion for alternative to TIH? One of the biggest things I've liked about TIH is the ability to run the backup when you tell Windows to shutdown. That seems to work fine now after making the changes in the Acronis services. To clarify this last statement this is true in 2011 and 2012 on my desktop and 2011 on my laptop. 2012 has the BSOD on the laptop. I wanted to switch from 2011 to 2012 on my laptop as I was seeing about a 50% failure rate of backups for the laptop. I will say that about 95% of these backups take place via WiFi to my NAS. The NAS is connected via Ethernet.

FYI:
At this point it appears this issue is caused by a driver from HP that runs for their program called HP 3D Driveguard. This can be uninstalled but the driver itself remains installed. So if you go into Device Manager and under System Devices and look for HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor and uninstall and also choose "Delete the driver software for this device". You will need to reboot. I will say that Windows (7 anyway) will see the sensor and reinstall the driver. From what I've seen it will reinstall the previous driver that is stored. I had to do this twice back to version 4.1.1.1 of driver hpdskflt.sys, dated 7/16/2010. The versions dated 4/2011 and 5/2011 caused the BSOD and you cannot do anything on the laptop. I assume if you keep uninstalling and deleting this driver it will finally not load the device and you will have an item listed in the Device Manager with an exclamation showing it's missing a device driver.
Having said this you may not want to remove this 3D Driveguard app. It's for motion and protects the hard drive. I swapped out my laptop's Seagate Momentus for a Momentus XT. I ran the 3D Driveguard app and could see the drive was not supported so I uninstalled it and as mentioned deleted back to two earlier versions of the hpdskflt.sys file that works with this app. I opted to not remove all versions of the driver as long as one worked as to not get the missing device in Device Manager. So far Acronis TIH 2012 (beta build 6097) is working with the driver version 4.1.1.1 of hpdskflt.sys.
