Secure Zone - identify number of files within
Hello
I have Acronis® True Image Home® version 10.0 (build 4,942) sitting on Vista.
This isn't a problem with this software per se though - I have been tracking down potential malware outbreaks on the box and in my usage of AVG Free scans have discovered that one of the system scans is picking up over an amount of 700K files on hdd drives C&D.
It is clear though that the actual number of physical files on the two logical drives C&D is about 400K+ only (with various Windows utilities).
I created a secure zone when I built the system a few years back - which I "guess" has about 300K files.
My question is - how can I determine this secure zone file number precisely. I have booted into Acronis at system start up (F11 etc) and got into the Linux front-end but other than telling me the zone is 40GB with 27GB used - no other details.
If I could determine that the total number of files on the single physical device was about 700K I would be happy. ie logical C&D + secure hidden partition = 400 + 300 = 700.
If I could figure this number exactly it would be better. I would then be comfortable that malware was NOT hiding dormant somewhere off the radar.
I have used sysinternals (Microsoft) rootkitrevealer which shows lots of files 'Visible in Windows API, but not in MFT or directory index' .... no rootkits located by this software.
Is there anyway I can ask Acronis the number of files therein - without a restore.
Thanks Brian
