Error restoring MS SQL 2000 - database
Hi there,
I use Recovery for MS SQL Server,build 163 on Win 2003 Server Standard R2,SP2.
I want to restore a full backup of a MS SQL 2000 -DB.
The task ends with an error. In he logs, there is the message
'Medienfamilie ist ungültig'.
Additionally, the DB remains in state 'loading' (SQL2000) or viewd by
Managementstudio SQL2005: 'wird wiederhergestellt'.
The DB has Recovery-Modell 'simple', there are no other accesses to this db.
I want to restore from a full backup (not from single filegroups).
I checked the special Option 'check before restore' - log says, the backup is ok.
The backupfiles are remote on an other server. and are created without problems.
I tried several scenarios, none is working:
restore on the same db or on an new db (new name),
Management-Console remote or local,
choosing a incremental backup or a full backup,
I attached a screenshot of the log, cause I can't export them as text.
Do I have to get a 'restore-tool' in addition to the backup--tool,
or is there another soliution ??

Hello Gerfried,
Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]
To find the exact reason of the issue I need additional information. Could you please let me know the following?
1) Could you please clarify where backup location is placed (whether it's on internal, external, or network hard drive)?
2) What is your operating system?
3) Could you please provide us with the entire log file in .txt format?
- Start the program;
- Select Tools -> Show log;
- Choose the log entry which contains errors;
- Click on the diskette icon, choose the location (folder) and save there;
- Attach the log file to your next post.
Thank you.
