Backup reboots pc
I upgraded from 2011 to 2012 over the weekend and haven't been able to back since then. Every time a backup is initiated the pc reboots after the 'calculating...' message is displayed for a few minutes. This happens to a scheduled and adhoc backup. I am running Windows XP Pro. Has anyone else experienced this or can suggest a fix?
I uninstalled the software and did a clean boot and re-installed as per Support's instructions but am still getting the reboot. I had also turned off the anti-virus software during the install.
Many thanks
Gerry

Thanks Pat. I have been swapping emails with support and have tried the clean boot to no avail. I did not try the clean up utility. I have since gone back to TI 2011 and it is operating as flawlessly as it was before I upgraded to TI2012. I will probably stick to TI2011 and try to get a refund as Support have basically told me that there's nothing wrong with the software and I probably have missing dlls. I'm just mystified why I have no problems with TI2011 and no other issues with my pc in general if this is the case. Thanks for your help.

Just to say that I also experienced this on WinXP Home SP3.
I had uninstalled TI2011, and installed TI2012. My first doubts arose when the software took something over an hour to build a list of the existing backups it found on my USB drive. But I stuck with it and let it complete.
Then when I tried to carry out a partition backup, I got the same as Gerry has reported - after a while the PC rebooted. This either in adhoc or scheduled mode. I did also start a file backup but it was going to take so long that I gave up on it.
So I uninstalled 2012, reinstalled 2011 Build 6868 (I have doubts about 6942), and now things are working OK again. And I have successfully claimed a refund for 2012 (thanks at least for that!).
