Cloned Harddrive - Windows Update not running,...

I have cloned a wd320 harddrive with win7 to a new wd500. the system boots correctly and I can login, all seems ok but win7 update is not possible, win mail stops with an error and some other programs didn`t start. On the old wd320 harddrive there is a demaged sector, may be this error the reason of this effects?
