What happens when you do a full restore ????
I am unable to reboot my computer.
I have a full backup on a single external drive so all my stuff is safe
( I HOPE ). I want to replace the existing drives (There are 2 drives 500GB each, with 1 new 1TB one.
Does the backup include everything including the operating system, so that after putting the backup on to the new drive, that will boot up as normal.. Thereafter will I be able to access the old drives on an external docking station so that I can take files from it ( My last backup was a week ago so some
files etc will not be on the backup)

Which version of Windows and which version of TrueImge Home? If a laptop, maybe even the brand.
Don't be in too big a hurry to do the restore over the old disk.
1. If you have files which are more current than your backup, then boot from the TI bootable Recovery CD and make a backup of that folder or files so the files can be restored later.
2. What is the error message or screen reaction at boot time?
a. If you can boot into safe mode, you can restore a prior Windows Restore Checkpoint which will put the registry back to a prior time.
b. Have you intercepted the boot and gone into the BIOS to make sure the computer is attempting to boot from the correct hard drive. Windows does sometime get confused.
c. If the error message is "No operating system found", it is attempting to boot from the wrong disk or no disk.
3. If you computer is currently non-bootable into Windows, then you may have to boot into the TI CD and simulate doing a backup or restore and observe the partition date provided in order to see which partition is assigned as active. In order to use the simulated restore to gain information about the partition sequence, you will need to change the appearance of the display. If you need help with this, let us know.
4. If you are restoring your backup overtop the existing disk, then a disk option restore (disk checked) is your best restore option. If you are restoring to a larger disk, then restoring each partition individually would probably work best but you absolutely need to know the correct partition sequence and which is the active partition in order to have a successful restore.
