Backup on NAS via WLAN: Short dump after ~75% completed

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

I am using Acronis True Image Home 2012, most current version. After 75% of my backup on NAS (Netgear Duo), a blue screen always appears - tried it 3 times. It contains the error message "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". See also the attached log files of the short dump.

Any idea? Would be great in anybody can help!

Regards,
Chris

Hello Christian,

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here. I understand your concern, and would like to help you.

Actually, the BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL usually is from a hardware driver, or a hardware conflict, so I'd run a memory test first of all. It might be possible as backup process is a resources consuming process.

I will check the dump right now, and will get back to you as soon as I have any news.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - let us know.

Thank you.

Hi again,

The dump file reports:

Probably caused by : pctNdisLW64.sys ( pctNdisLW64+9a90 )

It's not related to Acronis. According to google, it's a PC Tools driver. I would advise you to contact PC Tools support regarding the BSOD (and run the memory check).

Let me know if you have any concerns, I will be glad to address them.

Thank you.

Hi,

thank you for the analysis and the feedback!

The strange thing is that with another laptop, where PCTools is running as well, I dont have any issues and can complete the backup via WLAN.

Regards,
Christian

Memory test successfully done, no errors.

Due to your analysis I deactivated the Pctools Internet Security Software and ran a volume-backup via WLAN - and it worked.

Perhaps the reason for being able to complete the backup on one laptop (same configuration/software) and on the other not lies in different platforms: 32bit and 64bit versions of Windows. 32bit always worked and the 64bit version only after deactivating Pctools. What do you think?
