Any one know about Error Message 1067 in Non Stop Backup?

Thread needs solution

Just did upgrade to 2012 Home Edition. Non Stop Backup service did not start. Step by step with Knowledge base article failed to start this service. Non Stop has worked good for me in the past and would really like to get it running. Any suggestions or info on error message 1067?

Thanks and Best regards

Keith

This message is a generic message that the service cannot start.
Search your computer for services.msc and run it. Is the Acronis NSB service started? If you select it, can you start it?
If you can, right click on the service, choose properties. Is it set to automatic start?

BEFORE you do anything, unhide the hidden folders in Windows, and IF you have enough space, create a copy of the hidden " Timeline Explorer Storage" folder. This will make sure that you don't lose your 2011 NSB backup content. Then delete the original folder and try to start the service again.

If you cannot start it, you have to uninstall ATI, use the clean up utility, reboot and reinstall.

In control panel "Folder Options" under Files and folders option - Hidden files "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" is selected. Unselected is "Hide protected operating system files(Recommended)"

Cannot locate "Timeline Explorer Storage" folder. Tried full computer search for this file, still did not locate.

Am running fully updated Win 7.

Suggestions?

Thanks and Best Regards,

If the folder doesn't exist under the root of the destination disk you were using for the NSB, then it's gone somehow. You don't need to unhide the system files. Just the hidden folders.

Is the service running?
did you tweak/disable any Microsoft Service in services.msc?

If not, uninstall 2012, using msconfig, disable all non-microsoft services and start up itesm, reboot, reinstall ATI2012 and start the NSB service.

Thanks for all you effort on my situation!

Without any further action since my last post; This AM tried Nonstop just for the heck of it. It came "up and running":, why I haven't a clue. It seems to do this from time to time. If I don't notice this happening I sometimes later see it in the break in recovery points available.

As by backups include information that is 20+ years old I have 2 other full backups scheduled so as to insure I am fully covered. Nonstop backup up is a really neat and preferred program if somewaht "undependable".

A check this AM has the Nonstop service up and running as normal. For whatever reason I was unable to make this happen previously. Think I'll just live with what I have. In the past when this happens nonstop operates properly for a considerable time period. I could easily become "a crazy person" trying to track down the cause.

Thanks and Best Regards,
