Newby Needs Help - How to Retain Multiple Complete Backup Images?

Thread needs solution

Can anyone explain a simple way in True Image Home 2011 to create (and keep) a series of complete disk images? It seems the default is for each new complete backup to erase the previous one. Is it simply a matter of renaming each new backup in a specific way? Or perhaps if I create a separate destination folder on my external HD for each complete backup? I don't want to lose my existing good backup so I'm reluctant to do trial and error testing.

Any other suggestions greatly appreciated as I've been unable to find my answer in the Acronis manual.

Terry,

In ATI 2011, you create backup tasks. Each task can create (a) only full backups, (b) a full and then some incremental backups, or (c) a full and then some differential backups. These options are called the backup scheme.
When you create a disk and partition backup, ATI uses by default the version chain scheme, a variant of (c).
If you want to change the backup scheme, create a new task to a new folder, or simply delete the current task, after having moved your current TIB files to another directory for safekeeping.
When you create a new task, click on the edit backup options. On the scheme tab, choose custom, full backups. Turn auto cleaning on, and choose the option to keep only the most recent X backups. Remember you will need enough space for X+1 full backups on your destination disk.
If space is an issue, consider using an incremental scheme. see attached.
