synchronisation issues

Thread needs solution

I'm currently running TIH2011 on Windows & Home Premium backing up to an external USB drive. I bought 2012 before Christmas mainly for the synchronisation feature. They I looked on the forum and saw all the problems people were having (next time I'll check first). So my question is are the problems solved or do I keep waiting and work on the "if it's not broke, don't fix it" principle. There also seem to be ongoing install/upgrade issues.

Be glad of any advice here

Many thanks

Peter

Probably won't see major fixes until the next version. The serious bugs are too numerous to expect them to all be repaired before the next version comes out. Based on past practice, I would expect maybe one more update to ATI2012 before the next (pay to upgrade) version is released. Historically, Acronis releases a new version every year in the fall. Unfortuantely, a new verson doesn't guarantee no bugs. Imo, if what you have is working for you, stick with it unless the new version has some new feature that is critical to you. If so, then be sure to backup your disk before uninstalling your current version and installing the new version. Do not installed over an existing installation--even if just updating form one build to the next, with ati2012, best to uninstall and intall from scratch. Also note that with ati2012 Acronis has introduced the use of on-line active activation. IF that kind of feature bothers you, then you'd probably prefer to stay with ati2011. If you do change to ati2012, I recommend build 6131 over 6154, unless 6131 doesn't work on your specific machine -- then it's worth trying 6154.

Many thanks for the advice. A pretty damming comment, looks like money wasted and a product not fit for purpose. My main interest was in syncronisation - I'll stick with MS Synctoy for now

I'm not trying to damn; jsut trying to be objective. If I was trying to damn, I'd have to compare ati to the competition and say it was worse, and that would be a hard argument to make.
