TIH 2012: "No Windows libraries" when opening GUI on Vista
Whenever I open the TIH GUI, a Warning is posted in the TIH Log stating "No Windows libraries". A yellow Warning triangle is also shown on the related Log calendar.
I think I read somewhere that the GUI uses the Windows libraries on Windows 7, however I am running on Vista.
This is a big annoyance and I firmly believe that Acronis should fix this nonsense so that TIH is O/S-aware and does not leave misleading Warning messages. It's a waste of time for us users to have to investigate these Warnings to see if there may or may not be a real issue indicated by these Warnings.
In addition, this corrupts the Log calendar which cannot really be used to get a quick overview of the health of the TIH backup processes.
Please, please arrange to have this bug fixed.
Thanks
Jerry

Just found same problem with ATIH 2012, so now unsure if any of my daily backups are valid?
Incremental Backup with automatic clean-up, every 7 days
I think the Acronis has tried to do to much with ATIH 2012:
1. I cannot "Online Backup" to work; but have paid for Storage Space = Not Happy??
2. Synchronisation will not work between PC and Laptop, both registered on-line, to ensure MYOB and Data programs synced = Not Happy??
Is the Acronis team concentrating on " Backup and Recovery", and letting " ATIH 2012 " fall by the wayside.
So my question is, has ATIH 2012 become overblown and bloated?? To many bells and whistles, not enough plain Backup and Recover, which is the main reason most buy this type of software!
Seriously have spent a lot of money with Acronis! Looking for alternative software that will do basic disaster recovery if say the hard drive/s die.

David,
Could you start a new thread with the above problem, so it doesn't get lost in the 'libraries' post.

Hello David, and Colin,
Thank you for your comments. Colin, thanks for help.
David, Colin is right, you need to open a separate thread for a new issue (if there's no already opened topic for this problem). It will help us to get to your problem sooner on Forum. Doing otherwise is actually a violation of Forum Terms of Use, which can result it temporary ban from Forum.
Have you tried to contact support regarding those issues? If not, could you please open 2 new threads:
- Online Backup (in this section):
what exactly's not working. Step by step issue description would be good - Syncronization:
Do you receive any error? Acronis Info would also be really useful.
Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!
Thank you.

Dear Acronis Moderator:
Why not answer his question rather than just telling him he may be banned for posting in the wrong section? Jeez!
He raises a very valid point.
The AVERAGE home user does not need all these fancy options with incremental backup, which slows down the computer to a crawl anyway.
They want a simple, reliable system to recover their data and programs if their computer becomes unusable.
I changed the back up method from incremental to Full Backup, but it has recently given an error message with every back up.
I am using your 2012 version and Windows Vista Home.
It says No Windows Libraries. Does this every time.
But the WORST issue with Acronis for Home user is the lack of proper instructions for the only times one will actually NEED the program. To recover one's computer after a virus attack or computer crash.
The user is not using this program to write letters or do accounting but to guard against those possibilites.
So here's what the average user needs.
A simple plain guide to what to do when:
1. A virus infects your computer and it cannot be cleaned.
2. Your hard disk crashes and you have bought a new one.
3. Your hard disk crashes and you have decided to buy a new computer as the cost is not much more.
This needs to be split into two sections:
If you get a computer with the same operating system.
If you get one with a newer operating system. E.g. My Windows Vista computer crashes and I buy a Windows 7 one (no choice in that now anyway)
The guide should be capable of being followed by a normal human being with some computer knowledge but not an expert.
It should cover:
Recovering data
Recovering programs.
It should be easy to find and not just part of the Help file because remember, their computer has crashed and nothing is running!
