Is there a way to subscribe to new B&R updates?
This is mostly to Anton. I would have posted in the existing thread, but it was just locked after a couple people complained about the lack of updates since the 17318 build.
I'm not looking for an expected release date for the update- just a good way to learn about the update once it is released. So far I've just been looking at this folder in the forums. I could also sign into my Acronis account and look at the most recent B&R version, I suppose, but that takes more time. It's kind of annoying to have to do that when updates to often so far apart.
Is there some way to be notified of updates so I don't need to manually look for one? Is there a mailing list I can subscribe to? Other software I own and use have forums that allow you to subscribe to threads. Some of them have a special thread for announcing software updates, so that when they post an announcement about a new release you get an email. It works pretty well.
Thanks, Anton. I understand you can't give out an exact release date. I assume Acronis will release the update when its ready. As I said, I'm not looking for a release date- just a way to be notified of an update.
Please look into some sort of notification system, whether it uses a special thread and forum notifications, or some other sort of mailing list.
Right now I'm still using B&R 10. It mostly works well, and problems I had with earlier versions of B&R10, combined with the complaints on these forums, have largely scared me away from trying B&R11 until another update comes out. In fact, I might wait until it looks like B&R11 is getting more regular/frequent updates, which I presume will happen when some of the bigger bugs get ironed out and the developers just have to deal with "hotfixes." That seemed to happen with B&R10. That went through a phase with pretty frequent and small updates.
In any event, that means I won't see update notifications from B&R11. Even if I was running B&R11, my experience with B&R10 seems to suggest that I won't actually receive a notification of an update unless I go into the program and look for one. I'm really looking for something that will notify me automatically, without me having to do something I wouldn't ordinarily do (I pretty much never go into B&R10- its set up to do automatic backups so I don' t have to).
Thanks for telling me about the newsletter. It's not clear which option I should select. I don't want to receive SPAM about special sales on B&R licenses, and I'm guessing thats mostly what I would receive if I select "corporate offers." I'd also guess the beta release notifications option won't tell me about "regular" updates that aren't betas.

You're correct, currently our newsletter isn't flexible enough, and doesn't allow to choose what information a Customer would like to receive. I opened a new thread related to the update release dates, and we'll post a new comment there once the new build is out.
I have also forwarded your comment to the webteam, hopefully they'll make the newsletter more flexible, and it's suit your needs in future.
