ABR 11 & SBS2011 & nothing works....

Thread needs solution

We are not able to fully install the ABR11 on an SBS2011. In all cases/tries the installation of the windows agent fails. Full uninstall, applying abr_cleanup, restarts, etc. does not change anything.

Besides, it is not possible to make any backups - results in permanent errors.

Of course, we are using the newset build. Deactivation of forefront, firewall does not change anything.

How could it be that a software, called business, is that faulty. I mean, this package was not for free - in contrast.

Has anyone experience on a SBS2011 [German]?

I am at a loss with this software....

Unfortunately we cannot localize, and solve the issue you've faced unless we have at least the error your receive, or - which is better - the logs.

For product installation issue we have this thread, that contains the information on what to gather, and where to send. Shortly: please gather MSI log + Windows System Information and attach it as a comment to that thread. The moderator will check the log, and provide you with further instructions.

Please let us know what error you receive when try to backup the machine. Please also provide us with the description of the exact sequence of steps performed, and Acronis Info from the problem machine.

I also had the same problem. After installing the trial version for Linux Server, installed it inuder Ubuntu V11.10 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux V6.0. I can bring up the Backup and restore alright. However, I am unable to select USB mounted drive nor FTP server. Even though I can open and browse the USB drive using file browser and the FTP server using Filezilla Client.

So I just wonder if Acronis Backup & Restore 11 only works in boot up mode, not hot backup. I am a long time user of the Acronis True Image product for Windows and was quite disappointed for the Backup & Restore's buggy product.

I just found an older MSI log - perhaps that helps.
