2012 user interface is terrible!
The 2012 update has been the worst experience of my life. I have been an Acronis user for many years. Today I upgraded to the 2012 version. Total, unmitigated disaster. There is NO CHAT, there is NO FORUM, and there is NO EMAIL. There is NO WAY to get any hep from Acronis. I need to have a "password", but my password doesn't work. I try to reset it, and the email never comes. NOTHING WORKS. The 2012 user interface makes no sense at all - it is the worst thing I have ever seen. When it briefly ran, I could not tell past backups from backup tasks, and all the schedules were lost. I tried to download an update and the server is so slow it took hours (I am on a 50MB/sec connection). When I ran the update, the "progress bar" hung for over five minutes so I gave up and rebooted it. Little did I know that it stays there for ten minutes and then sudenly shoots all the way to the end. Bad, bad programming.
Try to get someone on the chat? It takes hours and hours if it works at all. Then you finally someone in India who has no idea what they are doing.
I have been down all day because of this. It is costing me thousands. I don't know what to do now. Can I un-install this crap? Can I go back to what I had before (2011 was GREAT!).
Acronis has gone down the tubes. Too bad. Another good company is gone.

Your first paragraph has confused me, if there is no forum how did you manage to post your thread?
What needs a password, the forum or using TIH to log into Sync or OLB, is it one of these or both that you are having a password problem with?
The overall feel of the GUI hasn't changed much between 2011 and 2012.
Did you install over the top of 2011 or uninstall 2011 first? An over the top install should have picked up your schedules, though in some circumstances it makes them read only. I suggest always exporting the tasks (2011 allows this) and then import them back into a new version.
Personally, I prefer to download the full installer from my account, that way it is always there should I need to repair or re-install, with the auto download, the installer is sometimes deleted when the temp folder is emptied or on completetion of the install. As you've discovered internet connections can sometimes become overloaded or poor SN happens if the line is ADSL or standard modem.
How many hours did it take for chat support to answer your query? I think Acronis management might be concerned if it took hours and hours for a first response.
You can always uninstall the program, same as always Windows ADD/Remove programs or use the installer which will offer you the option of uninstalling.

I must concur with this 100%. I have to poke around in it every time I want to do something. Not just go to what you want.
I accidentally deleted a backup when I wanted to reduce that huge list of backup files in the recover window. I just wanted to reduce the number on screen, not delete the file. But that was in the fine print.
I am now finding it easier just to reboot to the boot disk and use that interface. And yes as someone has already pointed out you can always remove and go back to ATIH 2011. This I will probably do when my patience wears out.
I still think the interface of 2010 was the easiest and most intuitive . Why not just work on the programmes guts and leave the interface that works alone.

I'm still on the fence. Unfortunately, I only have versions 2009 and earlier to compare to. I skipped to 2012 from 2009. I liked the 2009 GUI well enough. I don't care for the main screen's GUI in 2012, but will get used to it. Features are just a little more buried now.

i bought it but i will not use it anymore...
There are to many problems...
if you have got a older version keep it and do not update
and i do not mean the same things like christopher fox

I have always just bought the new versions but that will certainly stop.
The next new version will be a trial for sure and it better be a lot easier than 2012 for me to buy.
